NYC Honeywell Bridge Shines with New LED Street Lights

The Honeywell Bridge, built in 1910, stretches across Sunnyside Yards with midtown Manhattan as its backdrop.  It is located in Long Island City, New York, connected Skillman Avenue and 35th Street with Northern Boulevard and 32nd Street.

Back in the days, it never received high-intensity street lighting, but now, the Honeywell Bridge is highly illuminated with energy-efficient LED streetlights.

The 105W e-lite star™ SL2 LED Streetlights at the Honeywell Bridge replaced the old 250W High Pressure Sodium (HPS) lamps. Since the 2012 installation, it has achieved more than 55% annually energy costs and has yet to be reported any maintenance trips since the initial installation. With the longevity of SL2 LED lighting, it has significantly reduced operating expenses with less maintenance costs.

The LED fixtures by e-lite star™ cast a uniform lighting distribution and at a 4300K color temperature with CRI greater than 70, the well-lit Honeywell Bridge now makes it safer for both drivers and pedestrians at night.

The e-lite star™ SL2 LED Streetlight was awarded as the Recognized Product for the Next Generation Luminaire outdoor lighting competition 2012.  Excellence Opto Inc. will be exciting at booth #2253 in LightFair International in the Las Vegas Convention Center from June 3-5, 2014.
